  • protonmail for email,
  • searx, duckduckgo, or brave search for search,
  • brave as mobile browser,
  • hardened firefox (telemetry off) or librewolf as pc browser userChrome.css!
    • ublock origin browser extension as adblocker
    • distraction free yt extension to make yt less distracting
  • libreoffice instead of msoffice365 - THEY TRAIN THEIR AI OFF UR DOCUMENTS
  • linux as os (i use arch btw)
  • neovim or vscodium as text / code editor - vscode has microsoft telemetry
  • codeberg insead of github (for personal projects)

AVOID AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE using centralized social media.

reasons to hate social media bc idk what else to put here rn

  • companies use it for a ton of data tracking with people not even knowing what theyre consenting to
  • turns the internet into corporation based and kind of monopolizes it esp since one entity 'owns' all the data - there's a move towards decentralized tho w ppl moving to bsky
  • braindead time waste where u can end up being jealous or hating urself
  • sensationalizes content and just idk overdramatisizes things

the only still monopoly im stuck w is yt bc no platform can compete rn unfortunately... theres indivious as a frontend to yt but idk apparently yt was tryna take it down ... hopefully yt gets out of googles hands or something idk :(

it sucks how much data tracking there is on the internet but idkkk ig money and stuff waahhh... just seems unfair for so many people completely unaware or dont care abotu their privacy and the ickiness of it
